I'm so excited that they have picked my photo to help advertise a new book called The Great Ice Storm and Blackout of 2009! Winter Comes Early to Maine!

Wow. Wow wow. I remember the "Ice Storm of '98" and how I kicked myself over and over for not getting out and shooting the world covered in ice. This weekend I got another chance. Along with the unfortunate power outages, wood shortages, and property destruction came the most beautiful day I've seen in some time! With no tv, internet, or heat, and a day home from work, I figured it was the right time to get out and use up the rest of my battery power! Here it is:

New Blog Format

Today I finally took some time to change my blog in order to make space for bigger photos. I settled on this design which keeps the basic feel of my previous template, but will hopefully allow bigger, better images... especially since Baby S is due tomorrow!! Yay! I'm so excited to begin newborn photography.

Absolute Health Chiropractic Announces First Friday Artwalk You are invited to attend the First Friday Artwalk on Friday, December 5th from 5-8pm. We will be showcasing Nicole Derr. She is a freelance photographer who works on location throughout New England. She enjoys combining her love of the outdoors, her passion for travel, and her photography into a tangible result. Nicole recently began working on her photography full time, giving her faith to the idea that one can "do what you love, and the money will follow." She shoots with a digital camera and often, though not always, tweaks her images in Photoshop to enhance drama. Nicole is also a lifestyle photographer; She shoots in a photojournalistic style, unobtrusively capturing the moments of your most important events. She shoots contemporary family portraits and modern wedding and event photographs. Nicole's photos include pieces from Northern Italy, a variety of seascapes along Coastal New England, and Color Splash - closer looks at ordinary objects. A Walk in the Woods

Today Tucker and I took a different path in the woods than we usually do... and ended up on a 90 minute tromp through the woods! Luckily there was much to see and the sun peeped out off and on, giving me enough time to play!

Hampton Beach

Here are some seascapes that I shot last weekend before Carrie & Charlie's engagement shoot. This was just the most glorious fall day!

I am trying my best to be patient while Doug & Dee's engagement photos and the W family photos upload... so I began playing around with these landscape photos from the other weekend in Cape Cod. I love the lens flare filter, though I'm not convinced that it works on the second photo. Here's some of what I've been up to:

Cape Cod

The boys and I spent the weekend camping in Cape Cod--can you believe neither of us had ever been there before?! This place is gorgeous and we spent all of Saturday wandering around and exploring the Canal. On Sunday, I shot Ying and Jim's wedding at Scusett Beach, which I will post a preview of here soon.
