Bucho

Over the holidays, we stayed for a few days with my cousin's family, including Bucho, their lovely German Shepherd. It was awesome to see Tucker be submissive for once! While I pretty much put my camera away for the holidays, I couldn't resist a couple of pup pics.

Handmade Part II

Here's what T made me for Christmas:

I've been dying for a cool way to display my business cards, which I love since they each have a different image on them. My plan is to put, for example, baby photos up in somewhere like a daycare or a kids' clothing store, wedding ones in a bridal shop, landscapes up in offices where I've got my work on display. So dear hubby and father-in-law whipped up five of these things for me. Exactly exactly what I'd dreamed of!

As if that weren't enough... he prepared a crafting space for me, where I can Leave My Projects Out, without cluttering up the dining room table.

And in fact, it did lead to crafting, right away! Here's what I whipped up before we took off for our ten day tour of New England Families.

These are my favorite shots from the ice storm back in December. Happy Crafting!

Handmade Pledge

I almost forgot! This holiday my husband and I decided to make our gifts for eachother. Turns out he is as crazy about the Tuck Man as I am. I'm not usually a fan of collage frames, but I liked this one because the photos are all set back different amounts, and because the silver goes perfectly in our living room. (Of course, I brought it into the kitchen for the light for the photo!)

2009, in which Nicole learns to Ask For Help When She Needs It

Today is a day that I finally look at my visions for 2009--albeit a little late. I realize that what I need is a company slogan -- all of my favorite companies and photographers have a catchy phrase that really sums up the feel of their work -- and I've been hemming and hawing about this one for months. I have a few ideas germinating, but would love to hear from YOU. For those who know my work well: any ideas? Mom? Angela?

Here are a few that I love: Amanda Burse at www.labellavitablog.com - "Just Be You" -, Christy Murray at www.christymurrayphotography.blogspot.com - "Life Unrehearsed" -, and Andrea Runkel "Life is How You Capture It". I want to avoid cheese, but still be sentimental and true.

I also want to up the ante with this blog so that the resolution of my photos shows and so that it feels more... Nicole! Any suggestions for blog hosts or other more customizable platforms than blogspot?

Holiday Cheer

It has been too long since I've posted-- the hustlebustle of the holidays, I admit, has gotten the best of me. So, on this Christmas evening, I am posting some family photos from earlier this month, at my dad's birthday.

Laid Back Weekend

Both of the humans in this house have come down with the most uncommon of colds, so poor Tucker boy hasn't been getting the attention he's used to. After a suspicious silence this afternoon, here's what I found. (Notice I didn't yell at him; no, I grabbed my camera and told him to "chew on!")

My Big Backyard

T

Today I explored right here in my own backyard. Among the expected shots I found a spider fight and a resident frog!

Dog Days of Summer

Today it is COLD in Maine, so I thought I'd post some photos from the hottest day of summer. We took Tucker out to play in the hose with his friend Ginger--these pups are fierce!
